Eric Tobias is founder and principal of a soon to be launched boutique law firm, TobiasCounsel, PLLC. As both in-house and outside counsel, Eric has drafted and negotiated complex technology transactions including those involving cloud services, SaaS, reseller/OEM and distribution relationships, technology development, university tech transfer, manufacturing, outsourcing, joint ventures. Eric has spent almost his entire legal career serving emerging growth companies, many of whom are at the intersection of media and technology or offer products or services to large, risk-averse or highly regulated customers in media, healthcare or financial services. For the last ten years, Eric practiced at Cooley, LLP, a go-to Silicon Valley law firm, and prior to that was in house at MicroStrategy (Nasdaq – MSTR), e-Security (sold to Novell) and Revolution Health (a Steve Case company). Eric is a graduate of Antioch College and the Georgetown University Law Center. He lives in Washington, DC with his wife and two children, ages 13 and 7.
