Michael is passionate about business, growth, and community issues. He received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from Virginia Tech, after which he began working in HR for MicroStrategy in McLean, VA. Michael then spent some time working for two DC-based technology trade associations. During this time, Michael received a Masters in HR from Marymount University and a Masters in Adult Learning from Virginia Tech. He then left the association world to join a startup by the name of SB Nation. Michael helped that company grow into what is now Vox Media. In 2014, Michael left to start his own business (with a partner) consulting growth-oriented companies. Michael is originally from Springfield, Virginia and currently lives in Brightwood, DC.
