Nakapan is the Founder and Head Instructor of the Academy for Body Efficient Tactical Arts [BETA Academy]. A life-long martial artist he has over 25 years of experience training, teaching, and competing in the arts. He established BETA Academy in 2009, and today the school has become Washington DC’s premiere source for professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu instruction in the Nations Capitol. Prior to BETA, Nakapan earned his B.S. in Accounting from George Mason University and later earned his MBA and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia. While perusing a professional mixed martial arts fighting career, he served as the Controller and Director of Finance for a number of small business companies in several different industries including government contracting, telecommunications, and tele-medicine. Nakapan later went on to start-up and sell a number of companies in the automotive, public accounting, mobile software, consulting and government contracting industries. While managing BETA, he continues to compete in professional mixed martial arts and grappling contests.
