Neal Weinstock
CEO Soliddd CorpBiography
Neal Weinstock is the founder and CEO of Soliddd Corp. a company based upon breakthroughs in optics. He is the inventor of Soliddd’s stereo vision correction for macular degeneration. The company’s technology platform enables a number of applications in the fields of electronically adjusted vision correction, virtual reality near-eye displays, no-glasses 3D displays, optical films, super-high-pixel-density displays, and 3D and virtual reality photography.Prior to starting Soliddd, Neal was Chief Business Officer at PLLX3, Inc., a venture created to commercialize 3D technology expertise residing in the physical effects production business of Lucasfilm Ltd. Neal was also cofounder and EVP Strategy/Marketing/Sales/Business Development at BridgeCo, a successful fabless semiconductor company now part of Microchip Technology. He was chairman of system integrator Integrated Media Systems and Xpand Cinema USA (provider of 3D cinema systems). Neal also founded and led Weinstock Media Analysis, a research firm that provided data to and consulted with a large number of companies in the video, TV, and film industries, and helped develop many leading professional video products. At WMA, he helped start up Mate (now Mango DSP Inc.), a pioneering vision systems company. He also helped commercialize optical and visual computing technologies from Eastman Kodak, Sony, Panasonic, Avid Technology, IBM and many others. Before that, he worked in engineering at AT&T Bell Labs, AT&T Network Systems and AT&T Information Systems.Neal has also been a magazine editor and written numerous articles in the technology and media fields. He has also authored two books in this field: Design Automation Review, Prentice Hall (1990) and Computer Animation, Addison Wesley Pub. Co. (1986). Neal earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Northwestern University and was a National Merit Scholar. He is the inventor of 11 issued U.S. patents and of several other U.S. patent applications in process.
