Scott Bloom is Owner and Senior Property Manager of Columbia Property Management. CPM is a boutique firm specializing in a highly personal approach to rental management of single family homes, small multi-unit properties and large group houses. The CPM team manages about 100 rental units in Washington with an average rental amount of $2800 per unit. After 20 years developing his marketing and customer service expertise in Fortune 50 companies General Electric and Verizon Communications, Scott transitioned to full-time property management in 2009 after nearly ten years managing his own investment rental properties. Scott’s formal education includes a B.S in Marketing from Indiana University and a M.A. in International Affairs and Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies at the Johns Hopkins University (SAIS). He also speaks French and German and lived in Europe for ten years before settling in Washington, DC. Scott is an affiliate member of GCAAR, the regional realtor association and a longtime member of the local LGBT chamber of commerce (CAGLCC). Scott has served on the voluntary board of One in Ten, producer of the Reel Affirmations Film Festival and is a cofounder and served as the founding President of the District of Columbia Chapter of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM). He currently serves as Vice President of a local chapter of Business Networking International (BNI). In addition to being a landlord since 2000, Scott has completed several single family rehab projects, founded two different residential management companies, and helps to fund other rehabber’s projects. He is a lifelong Masters Swimmer, practices with a swim team on a regular basis, and participated in the 2018 Gay Games in Paris.
