Everything you need to know
about your Netcito membership…
What’s included in a Netcito membership?
The core of the Netcito experience lies in your CEO forum — a trusted circle of 10 peers who meet monthly and stay together throughout the term of membership. Beyond that, you’ll also have access to community-wide learning events as well as an online community where you can ask questions and join discussions with Netcito members from around the country.
How do the monthly meetings work?
Meetings follow a proven, structured format that each group adopts and develops into its own style. A typical session starts with a minute of silence and 1-minute check-ins for every member to discuss what’s new and follow up on commitments. The bulk of the meeting is devoted to member presentations; each member presents an issue to the group, then gathers feedback for 10-20 minutes. Before presentations, issues are ‘sharpened’ in a 5-minute exercise that helps get closer to the root of the challenge. The meeting finishes with member commitments, any group items, and confirming details for the next session.
What does it mean to be part of a Netcito group?
When you join Netcito, you join a TEAM of entrepreneurs who have your back, who value give and take, and who provide trusted space to talk about your toughest challenges. Netcito is not a networking group, nor is it a passive experience. That’s why each member is expected to give to the group — through presence, time, feedback, and support — the equivalent of what they stand to gain. Most members find that what they contribute is even more valuable than what they gain because they’re able to discover their own strengths and unpack the things that need to happen in their own business.
What’s the time commitment?
Netcito meetings take approximately 4 hours to thoroughly address the issues raised by each of the group members. The Netcito environment is designed to be a space in your schedule where you escape the weeds, press pause on trivial issues, and focus on what is important. We plan our calendars a year in advance so you can mark the dates well ahead of time.
What are the qualifications to join?
All Netcito members share at least one common thread: they’ve established real businesses that are contributing value to customers. However, we care far less about how much money your business earns and far more about what you can contribute to the group. Your contribution is the sum of your experience: your capacity to make an impact, your self-awareness, your generosity, and the distinct point of view you contribute to the group. We actively seek entrepreneurs who bring diverse perspectives to the community and who are committed to embracing inclusion and equity in their own lives. We welcome entrepreneurs who can add unique viewpoints stemming from their gender, racial origin, age, sexual orientation, disabilities, and general breadth of experience.
How do you match people to groups?
Netcito organizes its groups loosely around the scale of member businesses, matching entrepreneurs who are at approximately the same stage of business development.
How did Netcito start?
In 2011, Peter Mellen, an entrepreneur, investor, and advisor founded Netcito as a way of enabling entrepreneurs to realize their individual and collective potential for connection, inspiration, and impact. In addition to leading Netcito, Peter serves in a variety of other roles that include advising and investing in startups, leading entrepreneurship initiatives at Georgetown University, and managing a family-owned portfolio of commercial real estate.
As an advisor and investor, Peter guides entrepreneurs to identify and successfully navigate the path from conception to growth and scale. He has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs as an advisor, investor, and Entrepreneur in Residence at Georgetown University, and served in formal advisory roles for companies that include Hinge Dating (sold to Match Group), Haiku Learning Systems (sold to PowerSchool), CoreMetrics (sold to IBM), Soapbox Soaps, Vegetable & Butcher, and Osiris Media. His startup investments include Latch, Everlywell, Urbanstems, and many others. He participates in angel investor networks that include NextGen Venture Partners, Halcyon Angels, and the Georgetown Angel Investor Network (GAIN).
What is the application process to become a member?
Our deep vetting process ensures you’ll be surrounded by a community of peers that you’ll deeply align with. The process includes these 4 steps:
- Apply – fill out and submit the application form.
- Discovery Call – Schedule a call with the Netcito team to learn more about the community and determine if there’s a group that’s a mutual fit.
- Provisional Member
- We recommend a Netcito group that looks like a good fit.
- If the group looks good to you, submit your initiation fee (refundable if after the first meeting if you decide Netcito is not the right fit).
- Get nominated to the group as a provisional member.
- Full Member:
- Attend your first meeting as a provisional member.
- If you are invited to join the group following the first meeting, you’ll have the option to become a full member.
How much does it cost?
Netcito membership costs $395 per month plus a $395 initiation fee. When you are matched to a group, you will pay the initiation fee prior to being nominated as a provisional member. If you choose to join the group as a full member following your first meeting, you will pay monthly dues thereafter. Membership is month-to-month and you can cancel your membership at any time. There is no minimum commitment.
Your Netcito membership comes with a 90-day unconditional money back guarantee. If you decide at any time during your first three months of membership that Netcito isn’t a fit for you, we will refund all dues paid to date plus your initiation fee. We created this policy to make is as easy as possible to experience what Netcito has to offer. The only thing that members risk in joining a group is their time, and virtually every member who joins a Netcito group chooses to stay well beyond their three month trial period.
THE FINE PRINT: If you are nominated to a group as a provisional member, but fail to attend your first meeting, your application fee is nonrefundable.
How does billing work?
When you begin the nomination process you will pay an initiation fee plus your first month dues. This payment will be applied to your first month of membership, which begins on the date of your first meeting.
Beginning with your second meeting, you will be charged recurring monthly dues for the support, accountability, and structure that Agencito provides. This fee will apply regardless of whether you attend the meeting. If at any time you want to take a break from Netcito, you can set your membership to sabbatical status. You may also cancel your membership at any time.
What if I don’t get accepted to a group?
Netcito groups do not always accept new member nominations. The reasons for declining a nomination can include factors such as the managing size of the group, matching the relative stages of member businesses, minimizing potential competitive conflicts, and the maintaining or expanding the diversity of group members. Furthermore, members who are invited to join a Netcito group may not always accept.
If you are not accepted to a group, or choose not to join a group after being invited, you will have the option of applying to a different Netcito group. You can also withdraw your application and receive a full refund of your initiation fee and any dues paid to date.
Tap into the power of connection and community and gain clarity on your business’s toughest challenges.
Netcito membership is a month-to-month commitment that can provide a lifetime of value, both professionally and personally
Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a 90-day trial to ensure that Netcito is right for you. That means we will refund your dues upon the third meeting if you feel that you aren’t getting sufficient value. As long as you attend your first meeting, we will also refund the initiation fee upon your departure. In return, we ask that you give the first 3 months a true investment of your time and energy—the value of Netcito is a direct product of how much members put into it.
Building a business is hard enough as it is—there’s no reason to go it alone
With Netcito, you’ll join a group of high-achieving peers who provide you with inspiration, clarity, confidence, and resources to realize the full potential of your business.
Together, you’ll tap the collective wisdom of the group to achieve breakthrough results in your business—and become a better leader than you ever dreamed of being.
