Asaf Nagler
Co-Founder at Solar Retina Solar RetinaNetcito AlumBiography
I am a DC native and Co-founder of SolarRetina. Our company uses solar data, crowd-sourced from solar citizens, to provide needed intelligence and analysis to electric utilities, grid planners, and grid operators. Aside from our own special algorithms and analytical capabilities, part of what makes us unique is that we provide a mechanism for citizens to perform a small act (sharing their solar data) that, in aggregate, can have a significant impact on moving the needle on solar.
Previously, Asaf served as Staff Director and Senior Advisor to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Under Secretary where he focused on strategic planning, budgeting and management of the applied energy programs(~$8 billion portfolio) along with the Recovery Act. Mr. Nagler was integral in the launch of the Administration’s Energy Regional Innovation Cluster (E-RIC), bringing together the full research, innovation and commercialization pipeline in one place, and DOE’s first-ever Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase III Xlerator program to focus on the final stages of technology commercialization. Prior to joining the DOE Mr. Nagler served as an attorney in the White House and as Alaska Research Director and Get Out the Vote Director for President Obama’s 2008 Campaign.
